The Ahimsa Youth Organization plans several events throughout the year. All activities are are held in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. AYO CALENDAR 2001-2002
- June 22, 2002 - "3rd Annual International Children's Festival" sponsored by The Neighborhood Advisory Board to the Hamilton Recreation Center, The Carter Baron East Neighborhood Association (CBENA) and Mocha Moms of DC (a support group for stay at home moms of color. AYO will perform various dances and have several tables of activities for the children.
- June 21, 2002 - "South Asian Sensation" at the Capital Children's Hospital. AYO will perform various dances from South Asia for ill children. The cultural program will also include education of the culture through dress up, pictures, and South Asian arts and crafts.
- November 10, 2001 - Holiday Homeless Lunch. The holiday homeless lunch is an opportunity for all members to give back to the community and help feed the homeless. The lunch is a pure vegetarian South Asian meal that will feed nearly 300 homeless individuals.
- September 9, 2001 - Takoma Park Folk Festival. AYO will have country booths and performances from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Featured in the booth is free Mehndi and an opportunity to try on attire from South Asia. The festival will also feature cultural performances by AYO members.
- June 16, 2001 - Montgomery County International Festival. Join AYO as they set up the country booths for India. Featured in the booth is free Mehndi and an opportunity to try on attire from South Asia. The festival will also feature musical and dance entertainment by AYO members.
